In its 150th year, the world leading olive oil brand, Filippo Berio, moved into the convenience snacking market by launching a range of crostini bites. We were delighted to design the packaging for the prestigious new range.

We were chosen to design the range of x10 SKUs and complete the project by delivering repro-ready artwork. Our streamlined process avoided the need for prolonged timelines and extended budgets often found when employing an additional artwork agency.

Originally created for a product line launched in 2017, the packs underwent a subtle refresh in 2019 and can be found in upmarket delis and supermarkets.


Creativity was at the heart of the designs. Staying true to the Filippo Berio traditional look and adding a new twist to differentiate from competing products, the new range delivers Italian flair and oozes style.

Using matt laminated foil packaging and gold ink finishes, the new pack designs clearly communicate brand, name and flavours, whilst our in house photography and expert retouching gave us complete control over the delivery of every element.

Following the Filippo Berio styling of the company’s other products, we presented consistency across the packs, and with content brought out a story-telling aspect about their heritage as well as adhering to brand guidelines. Each pack features subtly different colours and content, focusing on the individual flavours and giving a different snacking suggestion.


We were extremely pleased with the way the packaging for the Crostini range turned out for such an iconic brand. Design Workshop’s vision for an elegant yet disruptive pack design was to drive consumer acceptance of the Crostini within the snacking sector. Every facet of the design was considered and portrays the personality of our brand, from the back of pack design through to the conversational copy on the pack.
